Time For Metal / Heike L.:

First of all thank you very much for taking your time doing this interview. We have rated your album Humananke with 9,5/10, and most magazines did the same high rating. That must be a great feeling, when finally all the work is honored in this way.

Embrace Of Disharmony:

Yes it is! We were confident about the album, but we definetly didn’t expect such a high reception. It’s really wonderful for us to hear about some people enjoying the album that much!

Time For Metal / Heike L.:

Can you tell us a little bit more in detail about the history of Embrace Of Disharmony? How did you all meet? And how did you find out, that all of you have the same intention to make that very special kind of music?

Embrace Of Disharmony:

Things developed litte by little. Nobody ever sat around a table talking about the musical direction of this band, it came out by itself when the songwriting started. Throughout many lineup changes, something every newborn band must deal with, we ended up with this team.

Time For Metal / Heike L.:

Does any of the members, or maybe even all, have a special musical education? I think, not everyone is able to write and perform this complex and progressive music. Or are you all self-educated persons?

Embrace Of Disharmony:

We are not big-educated music academy guys, but we all took lessons for some years, acquiring a solid basis. Then we all quit lessons and started to improve on or own, one of the main reasons being that metal, our main goal, is essentially not teached in modern music schools.

Time For Metal / Heike L.:

You are influenced by a wide range of great bands, but I still think it is very difficult to write that kind of music. Do you have to be in a special mood for that? Further, how does the songwriting work? Is there somebody responsible only for the music, another one writes the lyrics?

Embrace Of Disharmony:

Of course you have to be in a special mood, you have to wait for inspiration to light on. And it’s quite unpredictable, in some period ideas tend to flow very fast, in some others you are stuck in the middle of a song for months before coming out with something good. It’s always best not to compel yourself on writing, you’d rather wait for a good period to arrive. Music has been composed by guitarist Matteo Salvarezza and former bassist Michele Giorgini, while lyrics have been written by singer Gloria Zanotti, Matteo Salvarezza and former singer Matteo Mariani.

Time For Metal / Heike L.:

On the album Humananke there are guest appearances by famous artists like Mike Lepond, Rafael Bittencourt or Kobi Farhi. Have you been in contact with these guys before? Especially for Kobi Farhi I couldn’t help but having the feeling that this song was specially written for him…

Embrace Of Disharmony:

Actually it was not written for him, the decision to ask him a guest appearance was taken after the song was completed. So if you feel it was written for him it means that we made the right choice! We weren’t in contact with guests before asing them to play on the album, we just asked them by email or facebook waiting for a response. They all have been very kind and helpful. Do you think you will be able to perform the whole album Humananke live on stage, or maybe you already did? In general, do you plan to do some concerts also outside Italy, maybe even Germany?

Embrace Of Disharmony:

Generally speaking we are a live-active band. It has not been so in the recent months due to personal problems, but after summer we are planning to play some gigs around, maybe also outside italy. Nothing official by now, but there will definitely be concerts.

Time For Metal / Heike L.:

Is there any concert from the past, which was special or where something unforeseeable happened, and you will never forget?

Embrace Of Disharmony:

Well, we had the pleasure and the honor to be the opening act for Haggard on 16/12/2012 and Orphaned Land on 22/10/2013 in Rome. They have been two great experiences.

Time For Metal / Heike L.:

In case you have some free time, and I don’t believe you have much of it, are you able to just sit there and do nothing? Or are you still engaged doing something, like for example playing computer games or reading books by some famous authors? Or even already writing some melodies for a possibly upcoming album?

Embrace Of Disharmony:

We all have our personal interests and try to enjoy them whenever we can. We range from books to movies, to videogames and to other stuff. As for the composition something already moved, we have a brand new long song, but we are still long from having another full length. As said before, we don’t want to write music in assembly line, we rather wait for the right mood and the right notes, patiently building something to be proud of.

Time For Metal / Heike L.:

So thank you very much once again for that wonderful album and for this interview. Is there anything you want to tell to the readers of Time for Metal?

Embrace Of Disharmony:

Listen to our album! 🙂 And come saying hi to us on facebook if you want.
