Das aus San Diego stammende Quintett As I Lay Dying wird sein siebtes Album, das den Titel Shaped By Fire trägt und gleichzeitig sein Debüt für Nuclear Blast darstellt, am 20. September von der Leine lassen. Heute hat die Band den zweiten Trailer dazu veröffentlicht, in dem sie über den Schreib- und Aufnahmeprozess für die Scheibe spricht. Seht euch diesen hier an, um zu erfahren, wie die Kombo das neue Album fertiggestellt hat, während sie zwischendurch ständig auf Tour gewesen ist:
Frontmann Tim Lambesis bezieht Stellung: „Wir haben die Scheibe größtenteils selbst produziert, aber wir wollen all die Hilfe, die wir von außen erhalten haben, nicht außer Acht lassen. Erneut mit Adam D arbeiten zu können, war wirklich klasse. Er hat Großes geleistet und uns bei der Fertigstellung der Arrangements sowie bei den Schlagzeugaufnahmen geholfen, sodass wir jene in unsere eigenen Studios mitnehmen und dort an ihnen weiterarbeiten konnten. Anschließend haben wir das Album in die Hände von Joseph McQueen gegeben, der sich um die gesamte Bearbeitung und zu guter Letzt auch um den Mix gekümmert hat.“

Shaped By Fire wurde von der Band produziert und von Joseph McQueen im Sparrow Sound in Los Angeles, CA gemischt; das Mastering wurde von Ted Jensen im Sterling Sound in Nashville, TN übernommen. Die einzige Ausnahme bildet der Track My Own Grave, der von As I Lay Dying produziert, von Drew Fulk co-produziert und von Adam “Nolly” Getgood gemischt wurde.
