Bad Wolves trauern gemeinsam mit Millionen von Fans auf der ganzen Welt um den plötzlichen Tod der einzigartigen Dolly Parton, deren Vermächtnis Generationen von Künstlern und Fans weltweit geprägt hat.
In einer bewegenden Wendung der Ereignisse führten Bad Wolves erst kürzlich Gespräche mit Partons Managementteam über eine besondere Zusammenarbeit. Noch vor wenigen Wochen hatte die Band eine Heavy-Metal-Version des legendären Hits Jolene der Sängerin aufgenommen, und Parton selbst hatte vor, dem Song ihre unverwechselbare Stimme beizusteuern.
Bad Wolves Gründer John Boecklin kommentiert: “Our singer is a big fan of Dolly and had posted a bunch of videos of her covering Jolene. So, we decided to make a Heavy Metal cover version for our next album. On hearing our version, our label CEO Dan Waite sent the finished demo to Dolly’s Manager Danny Nozell with a request for Dolly to guest feature on our version. We heard back that Danny had played the track to Dolly, and that Dolly loved our version, and that Dolly was going to go into the studio and add her vocals very soon. We then sent over the stems for Dolly’s studio engineers to work with. Like everyone, we were devastated of this week’s news of Dolly’s passing. We will honor Dolly’s incredible legacy by donating proceeds from Jolene to the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.”
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library wurde 1995 von Dolly Parton gegründet und ist das Vorzeigeprogramm der Dollywood Foundation, einer gemeinnützigen Organisation, die sich dafür einsetzt, bei Kindern auf der ganzen Welt die Liebe zum Lesen zu wecken. Das Programm stellt registrierten Kindern von der Geburt bis zum fünften Lebensjahr kostenlos hochwertige, altersgerechte Bücher zur Verfügung – unabhängig vom Familieneinkommen – und versendet jedes Buch direkt an die Adresse des Kindes. Heute verschickt das Programm jeden Monat mehr als drei Millionen Bücher an Kinder.
Laut Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library wurden weltweit bereits über 300 Millionen Bücher an Kinder verschenkt.
