Die Melodic-Death-Metal-Band Eternal Tears Of Sorrow veröffentlichte ihre beiden letzten Studioalben – Children Of The Dark Waters (2009) und Saivon Lapsi (2013) – im Abstand von vier Jahren. Beide Alben schafften den Sprung in die offiziellen finnischen Charts und wurden von Kritikern sowie Fans weltweit begeistert aufgenommen. Während sie seinerzeit über Suomen Musiikki (Finnland) und international über das deutsche Metal-Label Massacre Records erschienen, waren sie nur als CD und digital erhältlich – nie jedoch auf Vinyl. Bis jetzt: Im Oktober 2026 wird Svart Records Children Of The Dark Waters und Saivon Lapsi erstmals auf Vinyl veröffentlichen.
„These two albums are the culmination of a path Eternal Tears Of Sorrow set out on in the early 1990s. After we broke up in 2001 and found our way back together in 2004, it felt like a small miracle that these records were born at all. In a way, these albums were both a new beginning and the end of everything. As it turned out, they would remain our final albums“, sagt Gitarrist Jarmo Puolakanaho und fährt fort: „Children Of The Dark Waters became the backbone of our live sets throughout the 2010s. It’s a diverse collection of songs that were always a true joy to play on stage. We built our shows around it, night after night. Ask me on most days, and I’ll call it the strongest album we ever made. On other days, it’s still a very fine record. Saivon Lapsi, in turn, took us outside Europe for the very first time, on a tour of Japan. It was the right album to end our career on, in honor of everything we went through and all the great memories along the way. Seeing both records finally released on vinyl means so much to me and to us.“
Svart Records veröffentlicht Eternal Tears Of Sorrows Alben Children Of The Dark Waters und Saivon Lapsi am 9. Oktober 2026 erstmals auf Vinyl. Beide Alben werden in drei Vinyl-Varianten erscheinen, darunter eine auf nur 100 Exemplare limitierte Edition, die exklusiv im Online-Shop von Svart Records erhältlich sein wird. Farbige und schwarze Vinyl-Ausgaben werden ebenfalls bald bei renommierten Online-Händlern weltweit vorbestellbar sein.
