Die britische Metal-Band Cage Fight – angeführt von der stimmgewaltigen Frontfrau Rachel Aspe – hat heute eine neue Version ihrer aktuellen Single Oxygen (inklusive Video) veröffentlicht. Diese Neuinterpretation ihres meistgestreamten Songs stammt von Kabbel, einem in Schweden ansässigen französischen Multiinstrumentalisten, der bereits mit Künstlern wie Perturbator, Cemetery Skyline und Imer6ia zusammengearbeitet hat.

Die Originalversion von Oxygen (laut Rachel ein Song „über den Kampf gegen die Zeit, wenn alles erdrückend und erstickend wirkt“) ist auf dem zweiten Studioalbum der Band, Exuvia, enthalten, das am 1. Mai 2026 über Spinefarm erschien.
Als es um eine neue Interpretation des rasanten, energiegeladenen Songs Oxygen ging, waren sich die Musiker einig: „That a hard electronic version would be awesome. Given that we’re playing multiple festivals in France, and it’s Rachel’s home country, we thought it would be great to collaborate with a French artist, and Kabbel couldn’t have been more perfect. His work on Oxygen captures the intensity, the stressful feeling of the original, but his skilful production and eclectic synth take the song into an entirely new realm.
