Nervecell Europa Tour Juni 2015 Flyer

Time For Metal / Rene W.:

Hi Nervecell,

our partners from Catapult Promotion are going to send you on a tour through europe and we are glad to present you as a media cooperator. At first I would like to know how the cooperation between you and Catapult Promotion developed and when the idea to start this tour emerged?

Nervecell / Barney:

Thanks for your services in promoting this tour we are about to kick start this week in Europe. We’ve been working with Catapult Promotion for 2 and a half years now so this is the latest tour they have put together for us and we couldn’t be happier. This particular tour was talked about towards the end of last year, we were already on tour in Europe last year so on this run we are hitting up cities we didn’t actually get to play on that last tour.

How we started working with Catapult was very simple, I just tried reaching out to them via email, we were at the time with another UK/EU booking agency and we basically felt neglected being under that particular agency so we wanted to leave them and start over with someone who prioritized us as a band more. Catapult Promotion right from the start were very receptive on Email and that’s what I liked about them from the start. They saw us as a band who was hungry to go on the road…I mean we come from the Middle East and we’ve toured Europe quite a lot in our career so I guess they saw how much of work we had previously done and they realized that a lot of our fans were based in Europe too. So yea it was a very natural approach and we today have a very good relationship with them.

Time For Metal / Rene W.:

Before we start to go more into detail concerning questions about your tour through europe I would like to know more about you. Besides the fact that you toured through Germany and  that we wrote about a concert, there are a few readers, who don’t know Nevercell.

Nervecell / Barney:

Well we are a Death / Thrash Metal band based out of Dubai, U.A.E. The band has been around for 15 years and we have put out 3 releases – an E.P and 2 full length albums. We’ve pretty much toured Asia, The Middle East and Europe quite a lot over the years and have had the awesome opportunities of touring and supporting legendary metal bands such as Metallica, Morbid Angel, Suffocation and many others to name a few. Hmmm what else do I say, It’s been a hell of a ride for us so far and we are very happy and fortunate to be able to do what we love – play Metal and tour the world!

Time For Metal / Rene W.:

Early June you are going to start the tour in Metzingen, what is the motto of the shows? Do you have a new album ready or are you just fancy to tour through europe?

Nervecell / Barney:

We are working on new material but nothing that can be presented on this tour unfortunately. We just love touring Europe in general as for us we do understand that a majority of our fans do live in Europe and I think it’s extremely important for a band to make the effort to prove to that fans that we value their support. What better way to show that then by taking the time out, traveling long distances and playing in their cities. I think this is still the only real way to promote your band and make real fans along the way.

Time For Metal / Rene W.:

What can your visitors expect, when they visit one or more of the nine stations from your tour, which also goes through the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Poland? Do you spoke with Catapult Promotion about the location or are your actions based on your experience?

Nervecell / Barney:

I think we get more fans after they see us live. A lot of times fans who heard of us before come out and watch us for the first time always tell us that they like us even more live then listening to the CD. Haha I don’t know how to explain it but I think this style of music – extreme metal is always appreciated better when experienced live. So it would be great to see new faces where ever we play on this up coming tour. There are always countries that you would like to add on to the tour but like I said before, this tour really consists of cities that we haven’t played in on our last 2 or 3 European Tours so it makes sense to come back and do these special shows in a way.

Time For Metal / Rene W.:

Did you prepare a special programm? I guess you won´t tell something about the setlist. Are there any information you can give to your fans and our readers, which perhaps will animate them to encourage you while you are playing?

Nervecell / Barney:

Umm not really anything special but we always try and throw in a cover perhaps and mix up the setlist from the previous year’s if we play the same continent 2 years in a row. We have songs kept aside that really we play depending on the audience’s reaction. If they want something old school then we change the last 2 or 3 songs during the show itself, so we do things like that depending on the audience reaction for sure.

Time For Metal / Rene W.:

There are no „days out“ on your tour and sometimes you need to move longer distances to reach the next locations. How important is fitness during this time? Are there any possibilities for sight seeing and what are you doing during the time in the bus?

Nervecell / Barney:

Yes on this tour there is definitely no time for sight seeing. I mean we’ve had many European Tours in the past where we had plenty of time in between shows to do all the touristic stuff…truth is we’ve been to Europe soo much since 2007 that we’ve seen all there is to see already in the big and busier cities. For us playing a show is better than having an off day, that’s how we like it. Sure staying fit is absolutely important especially if you are moving every single morning to get to the next venue in time, sound check, sleep if possible and then perform every night! Its no joke but it’s what we choose to do so you have to be both mentally and physically prepared. To do that you should know when to say no to certain things on the road and when to give your body the necessary rest it requires to be on the road with back to back shows. The more touring experience you have the easier it is to handle.

Time For Metal / Rene W.:

Besides your performances in clubs you are also going to play on festivals. Are there direct supporting acts, which are traveling with you the whole nine days, or do you play together with regional groups?

Nervecell / Barney:

For this tour we have different supporting acts for each show, so yea a regional group/s from every city we play in. Which I think is cool as it’s always fun when you meet and interact with other bands.

Time For Metal / Rene W.:

„After the tour is before the tour“, we like to say in Germany. What do you plan to do in your homeland, when the shows are done? Are you working on a new album or do you travel to another continent?

Nervecell / Barney:

We definitely have to write the next album once this tour is over, so that’s what seems to be the plan for now. In August we are on tour again. We will be performing in Tunisia and Lebanon for the first time, so that is something we are looking forward to.

Time For Metal / Rene W.:

Thank you for the background information! I whish you a lot of fun on the concerts. The last words belong to you!

Nervecell / Barney:

Thank you and see you on the road very soon. Cheers!
