Necrowretch - With Serpents Scourge

Time For Metal / Rene W.:

Hello Vlad,

I am glad we could come together now to talk about your new album With Serpents Scourge.

Necrowretch / Vlad:

Greetings !

Time For Metal / Rene W.:

The last seven years must have felt like months for you, if we think about what you have achieved since your formation in 2008. How is the feeling from your formation till the contract with Century Media Records and the completion of the new album? What is your emotional aspect about the time of your foundation till the contracts with Century Media Records and the completion of your new album?

Necrowretch / Vlad:

No it really felt like years (laughs). Many things were achieved on different periods for the band, first, were the early days : formation of the band, first rehearsals, demos, shows, tape trading, then we’ve got in touch with different underground labels who started releasing tapes and vinyls, in the same time as our first shows outside France and in festivals. Then came the deal with Century Media which opened a new age for the band. I think the first album Putrid Death Sorcery was really “the end of beginning”, and with With Serpents Scourge, Necrowretch is fully established and ready to destroy everything !

Time For Metal / Rene W.:

For the first three demos till now many things have changed, as I said before, which experiences did you take for yourself from the first two years that affects your musical faces?

Necrowretch / Vlad:

The first two years were about creating and playing an unholy and evil music. Well I think it’s still the same today, but we are doing it in a way better version (laughs).

Time For Metal / Rene W.:

How do you go ahead with writing your song for With Serpents Scourge? What affects your new tracks and how was the developement of the tracks until you took them to the studio?

Necrowretch / Vlad:

After the recording of Putrid Death Sorcery, we immediately agreed with the fact that the second opus had to be more extreme. I mean we wanted more speed, aggressivity, hate, possession, more fucking Necrowretch music ! For me, there is no point with doing two times the same album or it’s better to do nothing. Some bands choose to try new elements and play something more progressive or softer. In Necrowretch our evolution consists in playing uglier and disgusting at each release. Writing process was only about creating the most malevolent thing that we were capable to deliver, and I think the goal is well achieved !

Time For Metal / Rene W.:

Pervers, brutal sounds determine your everyday life, on the other side you love fixed melodies. How important is the ruthless frenzy for you without switching your head off?

Necrowretch / Vlad:

Necrowretch allows me to express all my hate without killing anyone. Some people do sport like boxing or martial arts to unleash the beast they have inside their guts. I use the music to deliver all that needs to be spewed from myself and soul. Everybody knows the sentence “extreme music for extreme people” and I think it’s a very true statement about the extreme metal fans in general.

Time For Metal / Rene W.:

In my opinion, Death Metal Fans cant avoid to listen to your new album With Serpents Scource – How important is such a success for you already at the beginning of the year? Are there „competitive fight“s with other formations from the Death Metal genre or are you going to keep the positive criticism for you that no envy can arise?

Necrowretch / Vlad:

Necrowretch allows me to express all my hate without killing anyone. Some people do sport like boxing or martial arts to unleash the beast they have inside their guts. I use the music to deliver all that needs to be spewed from myself and soul. Everybody knows the sentence “extreme music for extreme people” and I think it’s a very true statement about the extreme metal fans in general.

Time For Metal / Rene W.:

Last year you rocked the Party San Open Air literally, which Open Air gigs are you going to play in 2015? Can your fans look forward to see shows in Europe or Germany?

Necrowretch / Vlad:

This year we will play in Hellfest open air in France, and we will also tour in Balkans and Singapore/Malaysia. Shows in Europe are also planned, all the infos shall come in the right time on our facebook page.

Time For Metal / Rene W.:

It is time to come back to your album, With Serpents Scourge, I would like to find out what the cover deals with? Is there a deeper reason and who is the artist who designed it?

Necrowretch / Vlad:

The artist in charge of all the art around Necrowretch is Milovan Novakovic from Montenegro. We have been working with him since the beginning and he’s really connected with our universe with his artworks. This time he sent me the artwork while the album wasn’t fully written yet. So I’ve choose to write the lyrics from the artwork and it was a very interesting exercise.

Time For Metal / Rene W.:

I have noticed that the playtime, despite there are nine tracks on your album, is pretty short. What is your motto: Short and heavy > too long and boring? Or does it happend by accident? 😉

Necrowretch / Vlad:

I think fast as a shark is better for our music. I admire bands like Candlemass with very long and intense songs, but I’m not capable of writing 9 minutes of something infernal. Maybe someday, but not for now !

Time For Metal / Rene W.:

If someone told you in 2008 you will bring out With Serpents Scourge in 2015 and it would blow out the brains of a lot of Death Metal fans, what would you had replied?

Necrowretch / Vlad:

You are fucking crazy !

Time For Metal / Rene W.:

One question that interests me personally: where do you see Necrowretch better repealed, deeply buried in the underground or more on the mainstream? Did your opinion relating to this topic changed or is something which is totally overrated?

Necrowretch / Vlad:

We don’t really care about being underground, old school or such things like that. Once again, Necrowretch is a music addressed to a certain kind of metal maniacs. Necrowretch music is Coitus more ferarum. Is this anti music becomes one day mainstream, well… the mankind will be really fucked up !

Time For Metal / Rene W.:

I would like to thank you for answering my quetions and I wish you good luck and a lot of success for the future. Feel free to use the last words to say some nice words to our readers ;).

Necrowretch / Vlad:

Thanks for your support and thanks to all our fans in Germany and elsewhere ! See you in hell !

Time For Metal / Rene W.:

Thank you!

Necrowretch / Vlad:

Aaarghh !!!
