Lantlos-Kommentar zum Album: „I prefer to see NIB4E as a collection of songs and more like a mixtape rather than an album“, gesteht Mastermind Markus Skye. „Maybe because it is about a strange time of my life, both bright and hollow. While dreaminess, distortion, and detachment constitute overlaying themes, the record drifts through a lot of different vibes and influences from shoegaze and alternative via Nu Metal, pop, and then some more. NIB4E reflects 90s nostalgia: the bright optimism of early digital culture, a vision of a perfect future that never really arrived. It’s like remembering childhood through a sun bleached lens, pink soda straws in August ’96, black hole sun-skies, and the surreal, strange calm of the Windows XP wallpaper, which was a huge influence for the album art. There’s a utopian hyperreal beauty in it all, just a bit too perfect to feel real. NIB4E explores the spaces between euphoria and emptiness, presence and absence. It’s that moment when the world feels bright, yet you cannot connect. You are outside of it, watching through glass, and stuck between analog and digital conversion.“
