Der September verspricht einiges für Luther: Passend zu ihren Shows beim Reeperbahn Festival im Rahmen des Spotlight On: Heavy Reeperbahn / MoreCore.de Showcases, beim Envol Et Macadam Festival (u.a. mit Hatebreed und Despised Icon) und dem Local Core Festival in Hamburg präsentieren die Berliner ihre neue Single Five Of Cups.
Nach dem starken Einstand mit ihrer 2025er-Debütsingle Next Time Send A Killer – die ihnen direkt Support-Shows für Escuela Grind, Silly Goose, Predatory Void und Urne einbrachte – legte die Band mit ihrem Long Branch Records-Debüt Giving The People What They Want sofort nach. Gepusht von führenden Szene-Creatorn wie Kasey Karlsen, Dominik Artefex und Moo Smith sowie US Radio-Airplay bei Liquid Metal/ SiriusXM fragen Luther nun provokant: „Ist Progressive Post-Hardcore zurück?!“
“The lyrics tell the true story of a trip to Naples, where a vacation turns into an unexpected journey through mystical and folkloric experiences, including a prophetic tarot reading and a series of appearances of occult signs. These forced encounters trigger a harsh but inescapable revelation: sometimes in life, no one is ever completely on your side, and many of those around you may only be there to pick at the remains“, erklärt Sängerin Leo Luther.
Der Track zeigt eine neue Facette ihres Sounds: Während die letzte Luther Single noch stark von Nu-Metal- und Deathcore-Einflüssen geprägt war, bewegt sich Five Of Cups zwischen progressivem Post-Hardcore und melodischem Alternative Metal – inklusive einer Prise Emo. Dieses Sound-Spektrum holt Fans von Bands wie Loathe, Knocked Loose, Poppy, Korn, Kim Dracula und The Mars Volta garantiert ab.
Produktion, Mix und Mastering der Single lagen in den Händen von Enrico Tiberi, dem aktuellen Sänger von The Ocean Collective.
Ende 2024 aus der Berliner Underground-Metal- und Alternative-Szene entsprungen, legten Luther 2025 mit ihrer Debütsingle Next Time Send A Killer einen fulminanten Start hin und sorgten für einen unerwartet starken organischen Hype auf Social Media und den Streaming-Plattformen. Nach ihrem aktuellen Auftritt beim Rock For People 2026 in Tschechien wurde die Band nun auch für das Reeperbahn Festival 2026 bestätigt. Darüber hinaus folgte jüngst eine Einladung nach Kanada: Beim Envol Et Macadam Festival in Quebec City werden sich Luther mit Schwergewichten wie Bad Religion, Hatebreed und Despised Icon die Bühne teilen.
