Die Deathcore-Band The Last Ten Seconds Of Life aus Pennsylvania veröffentlicht am 17. April ihr achtes Album The Dead Ones!
Intensiv und zutiefst persönlich markiert The Dead Ones das Debüt von The Last Ten Seconds Of Life bei Metal Blade Records. Für die zehn Originaltracks des brachialen Deathcore, produziert von Carson Slovak und Grant McFarland von Atrium Audio aus Pennsylvania, konzentrierte sich die Band auf Gitarren-, Bass- und Schlagzeugsounds sowie auf Mix und Mastering, um das zu erreichen, was Gitarrist Wyatt McLaughlin als „einen extrem fetten Sound und ein brachiales Gefühl“ beschreibt. Vier hochkarätige Gäste sind auf dem Album vertreten: Make It To Heaven mit David Simonich von Signs Of The Swarm, Nate Johnson (ex- Fit For An Autopsy) auf Rat Trap, Dollar To A Dime mit Alan Grnja von Distant und XXXXXXXXXX mit Storm Strope, dem ursprünglichen Sänger von The Last Ten Seconds Of Life.

The Dead Ones wurde mit einer sechssaitigen Bariton-Viper Gitarre aufgenommen – der gleichen Stimmung, die die Band bereits auf ihrer 2012 erschienenen EP Warpath verwendete. Um die Intensität zu steigern, nutzte die Band in einigen Passagen zusätzlich ein Earthquaker Devices Sunn O))) und ein Keeley Octa Psi Drop-Tune-Pedal.
Textlich knüpft The Dead Ones an das gefeierte Album No Name Graves von 2024 an und behandelt das Thema Tod und Wiedergeburt. Im Gegensatz dazu konzentriert sich The Dead Ones jedoch direkt auf die menschliche Erfahrung und die persönlichen Kämpfe der Bandmitglieder. Der Titeltrack und die erste Single The Dead Ones handeln insbesondere davon, wie das Handeln der Menschheit einem Individuum seine angeborene Menschlichkeit rauben kann. McLaughlin führt weiter aus: „We all know that feeling. The piercing desire to be able to have one more conversation or final words with a loved one who has passed. The Dead Ones explores this in an illuminated way through the delivery of a sonic séance, where the realization that in becoming a vessel for the dead, darkness and light both demand their due.“
Ende dieses Monats begleiten The Last Ten Seconds Of Life die Band Left To Suffer auf ihrer Nordamerika-Wintertour. Die dreiwöchige Tournee findet vom 22. Januar in Atlanta, Georgia, bis zum 22. Februar in Dallas, Texas, statt. Fr3ak sowie Your Spirit Dies und LarcɆnia RoɆ werden an ausgewählten Terminen als Support-Acts auftreten.
