Das transatlantische Pop-Rock-Quartett As It Is hat die neueste Single Live, Laugh, Love, Los Angeles aus ihrem kommenden, selbstbetitelten Album, das am 17. Juli erscheint. Ein bombastischer, von der E-Street Band inspirierter Americana-Track, der politisierte, düstere Gesellschaftskritik in einen starken Kontrast zu mitreißenden Saxophon-Hooks und treibenden Grooves setzt.
Über den Song sagt die Band: “We weren’t planning on releasing another single before the album. In fact, this song wasn’t even on the original tracklisting. But, during album tracking in January 2026, the news and our social fees were flooded by the ICE raids across the USA. Multiple murders by ICE agents in Patty’s home state of Minnesota and almost one mass shooting per day. We watched the USA descend into violence whilst the ‚Rich Televangelist‘ at the top stoked the fires futher. The song was about Patty’s relationship with America and being an American in the current political climate, but with that added real world context it suddenly became even more urgent and essential, not only to the album but to the album campaign. As tensions continue to rise and the global resurgence of the far right continues, we felt that this song, its message and the video deserved their moment to be seen, heard and felt. Fuck Fascism.“
Kunst um der Kunst willen zu schaffen, ist die reinste Intention, die eine Band haben kann. Einen Song zu schreiben, der vielleicht nie veröffentlicht wird, aber genau den Grund ausdrückt, warum man überhaupt kreativ sein will. Freude, Verbundenheit und Erfüllung über alles andere zu stellen und die Früchte dieser menschlichen Bestrebungen zu ernten. Es ist eine edle und selbstlose Haltung, die den Kern dessen bildet, warum wir uns alle in die Musik verlieben. Für As It Is war es absolut notwendig, so etwas zu tun. Es war der einzige Weg, um auch nur ansatzweise wiederzubeleben, was sie vor 13 Jahren zusammengeführt hatte. Ein Moment, in dem Patty Walters, Ben Biss, Ali Testo und Patrick Foley nach langer Zeit wieder zusammenkommen, auf die Höhen und Tiefen ihrer gemeinsamen Zeit zurückblicken und daraus neue Hoffnung und Inspiration schöpfen konnten.
Daraus entstand As It Is, das erste Album, das sie seit acht Jahren als Quartett veröffentlicht haben. Ein Album, das sie so selbstbewusst und mutig wie nie zuvor präsentiert, getragen von einer wunderbaren kollektiven Katharsis. Doch um diesen Zustand überhaupt erreichen zu können, war zunächst eine andere Art von Arbeit nötig.
