Miss May I veröffentlichen am 2. Oktober ihr neues Album No Place For Me über Solid State Records.
In ihrem neuen Song Highbrow Thieves geht es nicht um den typischen Diebstahl eines Gegenstands, der einem nicht gehört, sondern vielmehr um den Diebstahl einer weitaus wertvolleren und oft knappen persönlichen Ressource.
„Highbrow Thieves is written from the perspective of someone worked to the bone, taking orders from people with no remorse for who they’re giving them to. The ‚thieves‘ here aren’t after riches or objects — what they’re really stealing is something far more valuable: Time“, sagt Benton.
Über das Album verrät der Sänger, dass das Schreiben und die Aufnahme ein wahrhaft kathartischer Prozess waren: „No Place For Me is everything I’ve felt for a long time but never had the words for. Writing it taught me who I actually am even when that hurt to look at. It’s a full journey: Where it started, what I discovered, and where I am today.“ Dies sind die zentralen Themen des Albums; sie sorgen dafür, dass die Fans eine so tiefe Verbindung dazu aufbauen werden, dass es ihnen bis ins Mark geht.
