Gemischt und gemastert von Dave Otero (Cattle Decapitation, Allegaeon, Archspire, Cephalic Carnage) und mit Artwork von Shindy Reehal (Psycroptic, Lamb Of God, Kreator, Angelmaker), ist der Song die erste neue Veröffentlichung der Band seit ihrem von Kritikern gefeierten und die Charts stürmenden Album Datalysium (2023). Gleichzeitig ist es der erste Song, auf dem Schlagzeuger Maximillian Sepulveda zu hören ist.
Sänger Derek Rydquist kommentiert: „Fleshbound Reliquary depicts a world and existence where resources have been so ravaged that we are forced to look towards ourselves as the means of production for what comes next.“
Gitarrist Justin McKiney ergänzt: „Musically, the track features a series of tightly interlocked rhythmic motifs executed with laser precision, all within a traditional song structure. The piece is primarily in three, culminating in a grand, climactic resolution of the main motif that transitions into a powerful four feel for an epic close.“ The Zenith Passage beenden gerade eine erfolgreiche Nordamerika-Tournee, die am 30. Die aus Los Angeles, Kalifornien, stammende Band The Zenith Passage wurde 2012 von McKiney als kleines Aufnahmeprojekt gegründet. Die Band erregte nach der Veröffentlichung ihrer Debüt-EP Cosmic Dissonance schnell Aufsehen und entwickelte sich schließlich zu einer vollwertigen Tour-Band.
