Die finnischen Modern-Metaller Luna Kills, bestehend aus Lotta Ruutiainen, Samuli Paasineva, Jimi Kinnunen und Lassi Peltonen, legen nach und veröffentlichen mit Lower eine brandneue Single über Sharptone Records. Der Song folgt auf das im vergangenen Jahr erschienene Album Deathmatch, mit dem sich die Band bereits viel Aufmerksamkeit erspielt hat.
Inhaltlich dreht sich Lower um das Gefühl, nirgendwo dazuzugehören und an den Erwartungen von Gesellschaft, Umfeld und den eigenen Ansprüchen zu zerbrechen. Dazu erklärt die Band in der Pressemitteilung: „The lyrics of the song are about dealing with the feeling that you don’t belong anywhere. You feel the weight of not fitting into the expectations that society or others have placed upon you, or even the expectations you have for yourself. It makes you question your reality, and at the same time, you slowly begin to feel like you’re fading away piece by piece and turning into someone you don’t recognize. The song carries a theme – both in lyrics and music – about the contrast between the softness of accepting yourself and the world you have built around yourself and the crushing weight of a never leaving dread whispering whether you made the right choices.“
Mit Songs wie Waves, Leech, Sugar Rush, Slay Ur Enemies und Love U haben Luna Kills in den vergangenen Monaten weiter an ihrem Mix aus brachialer Härte, moderner Produktion und emotional aufgeladenem Songwriting gearbeitet.
Auch live bleibt die Band 2026 sehr aktiv und hat zahlreiche neue Termine bestätigt. Auf dem Plan stehen unter anderem Festivalshows beim Wacken Open Air, Summer Breeze, Reload Festival, Alcatraz Festival und Copenhell Metal Cruise sowie Clubshows in mehreren europäischen Ländern. Zudem sind Support-Slots für Future Palace und Vianova angekündigt.
