Die polnischen Extreme-Metal-Legenden Behemoth veröffentlichen I, Scvlptor, die erste Single aus ihrem neuen Studioalbum I, Scvlptor.
Das Musikvideo zum Titeltrack I, Scvlptor wurde von dem renommierten polnischen Produktionskollektiv Grupa 13 produziert, während das Cover-Artwork und das Design von Bartek Rogalewicz, einem langjährigen Weggefährten der Band, stammen.
Nergal kommentiert die neue Single wie folgt: „I, Scvlptor is a new Behemoth song rooted in the tradition of monumental tracks like O Father O Satan O Sun!, Lucifer or Nieboga Czarny Xiądz, while at the same time opening a new chapter. It carries that epic weight but also takes an unexpected turn that makes it feel fresh and different from the previous pieces. Lyrically, it is a metaphor for the endless process of shaping oneself – an uneven struggle with matter and personal limitations. The paradox is that from the moment we are born we are already destined to die, so perhaps it is not about victory itself, but about the constant act of sculpting who we are.“

Das neue Album I, Scvlptor, das am 4. September 2026 erscheint, ist eine exklusive Veröffentlichung mit acht bisher unveröffentlichten Songs – sieben neuen Studioaufnahmen und einem Live-Track. Es handelt sich um ein eigenständiges Werk, das eine Brücke zwischen der frühen Geschichte der Band und ihrer heutigen kreativen Schaffenskraft schlägt. Die Veröffentlichung präsentiert brandneues Studiomaterial, das die geballte Live-Energie und Intensität von Behemoth einfängt. Zwei Titel – Rise Of The Blackstorm Of Evil (von The Return Of The Northern Moon, 1992) und In Thy Pandemaeternum (von Pandemonic Incantations, 1998) – sind Neuaufnahmen von frühem Behemoth-Material, die mit modernem Soundgewand versehen wurden, ohne dabei ihren ursprünglichen Geist zu verlieren. Zudem enthält das Werk eine Hommage an Bands, die einen großen Einfluss auf Behemoth hatten: In League With Satan (ursprünglich von Venom, feat. Shagrath von Dimmu Borgir) und The Return Of Darkness And Evil (ursprünglich von Bathory, feat. Sakis Tolis von Rotting Christ). Erhältlich als CD, LP, MC und in einer limitierten Box-Edition weltweit über Massacre Records sowie digital über Nuclear Blast.
Zur Veröffentlichung sagt Nergal: „We’re fucking excited about the release of I, Scvlptor. Even though it’s not a regular studio album and is, in fact, more of a compilation, the mere fact that it contains songs nobody has ever heard before makes it a significant release for us. What’s more, some of these tracks are likely a little different from what we offered on our last album, The Shit Ov God. That’s why we see I,Scvlptor as an important record — a connecting piece, a bridge between where we are now and whatever may come next in the distant future.“
