Die Musik von W.E.B. wurde für ihre „Dramatik, Extremität und Blutrünstigkeit zu gleichen Teilen … energiegeladen und verstörend“ hoch gelobt. Die beeindruckende symphonische Extreme-Metal-Besetzung lässt sich am besten bei einem ihrer vielen mitreißenden Live-Auftritte erleben. Ihr erstes Live-Album, Enter Darkness Alive, wurde am 22. September 2024 in ihrer Heimatstadt Athen aufgenommen.
„We shared the stage that night with Dark Funeral, and since we were making changes within the band, that had us excited. We made the decision to mark this day with a special release, hence our first official live album„, sagt Sänger und Gitarrist Sakis Prekas.
Die Auswahl der neun Songs für Darkness Alive war sehr einfach. „We can tell almost immediately which songs work for a concert and we always keep the audience in mind“, erklärt Prekas. „We want the people who come to see W.E.B. perform to have a good time, to get our message, to grasp them and make a damn memorable metal show, as it should be.“
Darkness Alive zeigt die Band auf dem Höhepunkt ihres Schaffens. Zu den Highlights zählen Dragona, ein Black-Metal-Kracher mit einem epischen Finale, der für immer ein fester Bestandteil der W.E.B.-Live-Setlist sein wird, Into Hell Fire We Burn, das Prekas als „donnernde Verschmelzung von Black und Heavy Metal mit einem Refrain, der einen förmlich zum Mitsingen auffordert“ beschreibt, und die neue Single Dark Web, ein intensiver Melodic-Death- und Modern-Metal-Angriff vom 2021 erschienenen Album Colosseum. Dark Web prangert an, wie Menschen mit Macht und Geld andere behandeln: auf brutalste Weise.

W.E.B. arbeiten derzeit an ihrem nächsten Album, mit dem sie wieder auf Tour gehen werden. „It is by far the best material we;ve ever had on a record. I intend to keep the promise to myself regarding W.E.B. that all new material must be better material, otherwise there is no reason to release it“, sagt Prekas abschließend. „Stay Dark.“
