Die kanadischen Thrash-Legenden Sacrifice haben einen ersten Song aus ihrem lang erwarteten neuen Album Volume Six veröffentlicht, das in Europa am 24. Januar 2025 über High Roller Records erscheinen wird.

Seit 2016 hatten Sacrifice an neuem Material für den Nachfolger von The Ones I Condemn (2009) gearbeitet. Im Dezember 2020, während der Pandemie, veröffentlichte die Band eine Demoversion eines neuen Songs namens World War V im Internet. Dies ebnete den Weg für Sacrifices sechstes Studioalbum mit dem treffenden Titel Volume Six, das zwischen September 2023 und Mai 2024 in den Phase One Studios in Toronto mit Toningenieur Darius Szepaniak aufgenommen und gemischt wurde.
„All original four members are on Volume Six„, sagt Sänger/Gitarrist Rob Urbinati. „We are very fortunate that we are all still into doing this. Sacrifice is the last of the classic thrash bands with the original line-up intact.“
Der ursprüngliche Plan der Band war es, eine EP aufzunehmen. „But we ended up with more great songs than we planned for“, fügt Urbinati hinzu, „and at some point we agreed to record a whole album. It felt like old times, we were pretty excited to get in the studio again. When you write songs this is your ultimate goal, so we were ready, and yes, there was that old magic you can feel during recording. We just can’t wait for everyone to hear the album. We are very confident that our old fans will like Volume Six and hopefully some new ones too.“
