In nur wenigen Jahren gelang es der Band, dank der gefeierten Veröffentlichung ihres ersten Albums The Drift auf drei Kontinenten Fuß zu fassen, u. a. tourten sie durch Europa mit den Gothic-Metallern von Sirenia und den Folk-Metal-Legenden Tyr und durch Japan mit Obscura und Archspire, sowie durch die USA mit The Veer Union.
Auf weiteren Touren mit Septicflesh und Krisiun konnten sich Xaon durch ihre große Bühnenpower auszeichnen und sich als extrem kraftvoller Live-Act etablieren.
2022 veröffentlichten Xaon ihr nächstes Album The Lethean, dass ihre atemberaubende Aggressivität auf eine völlig neue Ebene hebt, sich durch kataklysmische Atmosphären bewegt und auch neue majestätische Höhepunkte erreicht.
Dieses Jahr vertraten sie Frankreich beim Metal Battle in Wacken und konnten trotz der widrigen und komplizierten Umstände vollends überzeugen.
Die Band sagt dazu:
„Wacken, the holy land and grand pilgrimage of oh so many patch clad, beer loving, headsmashing, lovely folks. If you would have told our 16 year old selves that we would one day walk on one of its stages, you probably would’ve been punched in the nuts and told to quit drinking. But what started as an unlikely dream quickly morphed into a waking nightmare, as rain poured up to unseen proportions in the history of the festival and the land quickly became overtaken by the mud. As our set time grew closer and our gear almost set up, the doors still wouldn’t open despite the growing lines on the horizon. And here it came, the nightmare, the announcement that we would not go on and that several other bands also got cut. The motto “Rain or Shine” started having a very bitter bite and our 20 hour drive felt futile, but we were invited for the whole week, so might as well drown our sorrow sin what the holy land could provide us.
Thursday morning, still stumbling from our booze filled cloud, a phone call came, our set got rescheduled for midnight and the unexpected dream came back. As the day went by and our car and trailer got hauled out of the mud by an overworked tractor, it was soon time. And here it was, that chanting from thousands of brave souls that fought the mud and gave us all their all. And suddenly it was gone, a moment out of time without the greatest of greats, a moment we still have trouble realizing. So despite the rollercoaster of emotions and the years off our lives, yet we smile… And yet I smile…“
