„Der Start in die Zukunft!“
Nach dem Durchbruch in der skandinavischen Metal Szene mit ihrem 2017 erschienenen Debüt Polarize sind die Söhne Gothenburgs, Aviana wieder zurück mit neuer Stärke und veröffentlichen ihr zweites Studioalbum Epicenter, in Kooperation mit Arising Empire, im August 2019. Nach der Trennung von ihrem vorherigen Sänger sind Aviana nun zurück mit dem Debüt von Frontmann und Vokalist Joel Holmqvist (ex. Walking With Strangers, Oceans Red).
Inspiriert vom 90’s Nu-Metal und gemischt mit einem makellosen Mix aus progressiven Leadgitarren als Basis, beschwört dieser eine moderne Ära von gewaltigen Breakdowns in einem Großteil ihrer Songs hervor.
Ihr aktuelles Album Epicenter, das in Zusammenarbeit mit Jeff Dunne entstand, ist ein weiterer Beweis dafür, dass die Schweden, als nächste große musikalische Sensation Gothenburgs in die Geschichte eingehen. „We‘ve all been listening to a lot of different music the last couple of years, and also while growing up. But I would say a few of the bands that inspired us in writing music on our own is both bands like Limp Bizkit and Deftones, but even Northlane and Eminem“, erklärt Gitarrist Marcus Heffler. „We are all listening and taking inspiration on a diverse type of music that contributes in our songwriting, but we wanted to find a new fresh sound with Epicenter still sounding like Aviana with Joel, our new vocalist.“
Während ihr Vorgängeralbum Polarize eher der progressive Seite des Metalcore und der Djent-Szene der letzten Jahre entstammt, hat die Band mit ihrem aktuellen Album Epicenter eine modernere Richtung eingeschlagen – den unverkennbaren Aviana Vibe aber trotzdem beibehalten.
Härter als je zuvor geben uns die Schweden mit ihrer neuen Single Heavy Feather von Epicenter ein weiteres Beispiel für das Talent der Band, Hits zu produzieren. Nachdem auch schon die erste Single ihres Debütalbums, ‚Solar‘, in zwei Jahren seit ihrem Release schon 2,000,000 mal allein auf Spotify gestreamt wurde.
Heavy Feather ist die Debüt-Single des neuen Sängers Joel Holmqvist und in einem aufwendigen, futuristischen Musikvideo kann man die Band vor dem Epicenter Cover-Artwork performen sehen, während es um die Band herum Federn regnet.
Auch wenn Aviana bisher nur um die 35 Live-Shows verbuchen können, zählen dazu Shows in Großbritannien und Europa als Support der japanischen Metalcore Überflieger Crystal Lake, sowie Auftritte auf Festivals wie dem Morecore Festival in Köln und dem True North Festival in Tokyo. Während ihrer Tour in Japan im September 2018 hat die Band auch Shows zusammen mit Künstlern wie den Australiern von Make Them Suffer, Japans Earthists, Paledusk und Salling Before The Wind gespielt, um nur ein paar zu nennen.

It was our first time outside of Europe, so coming to Tokyo and play our first show on that tour in front of 2500 people at the legendary venue Studio Coast is something that we will never forget. “ – Sebastian Colque.

Aviana werden zu ihrem 10. Jubiläum in Großbritannien und Europa zusammen mit The Word Alive, ihren Freunden von Make Them Suffer und Of Virtue diesen April auf Tour gehen.
